Anthropic Achieves $380 Billion Valuation Through $30 Billion Raise

Date:

The AI startup Anthropic has raised $30 billion in fresh capital, more than doubling its valuation from $183 billion to $380 billion. The substantial increase underscores the massive investor appetite for leading artificial intelligence companies.

GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and Coatue Management spearheaded the funding round, which represents one of the largest private capital raises in business history. The involvement of such prominent investors reflects mainstream confidence in AI technology.

Anthropic’s financial metrics justify the elevated valuation, with the company reporting $14 billion in annualized revenue. The firm has accomplished tenfold revenue growth annually for three consecutive years, a remarkable track record.

The May 2025 general availability of Claude Code has been particularly influential in driving recent revenue gains. This AI-powered development tool has gained widespread market acceptance among enterprise customers.

Looking forward, Anthropic projects significant efficiency improvements. The company forecasts cash burn will decline to roughly one-third of revenue in 2026 and just 9% by 2027, with break-even targeted for 2028.
