Antonio Tajani, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, emphasized Italy’s commitment to the establishment of a Palestinian state. However, he asserted that such recognition should only occur when conditions are conducive to a peaceful and stable state that can coexist with Israel. Tajani highlighted mutual recognition, security, and dialogue as essential components for reaching a durable two-state solution.
Concerns over escalating violence in the West Bank were also addressed by Tajani, who condemned the actions of Israeli settlers and voiced opposition to any expansion or annexation of settlements that could jeopardize peace efforts.
